Passage to India
Going to India in February 2006 for 2 overlapping workshops and CHEP. First step - how to get a visa?
Most important link: Indian Embassy, Switzerland, visa application information.
Follow the procedure for the Geneva consulate, taking photocopies of everything you can think of, including flight schedule, Carte de legitimation, letters of invitation etc.
Filling the form is pretty obvious. Under Part B 4, I wrote "see attached letters", which seemed to work. I guess you can work out the answers to the other questions...
You need to pay 75SF first via PTT (see account in PDF file from above link).
(I filled in a slip by hand but you can also get slips with the account number printed from the consulate itself - I might have a few copies left!)
Turn-around is one day, although I would recommend calling in the morning to confirm.
October 2006: a second trip. Re-use above procedure, but this time with an e-ticket. Works just fine. 2 day turn-around this time though.

LCG Phase 2. Or is that too.
So we enter a new era. New job title - one word shorter. To celebrate, I buy a sandwich toaster for the office. Start of the art in terms of User Interface. It has two lights - a red one, which means its on. And a green one, which also means its on. When the green light goes off it means its ready. And just in case this wasn't blindingly obvious, its then supposed to blink. Which fortunately it doesn't.
So what does this all mean? Well, not surprisingly, more trips. Starting with down-under in a few weeks...
(This time I'll remember to check which way the water rotates when I'm emptying the bath tub).
Cream Reunion DVD arrives. Still sounds as though there are at least people drumming during Ginger's solos. Jimi at Woodstock. Unlike hackneyed blues licks copied from the old masters, at least this sounds like a new twist. Still not equalled in 35 years... Mind you, I'm not sure if I'd get away with wearing his outfit these days - even if I did fancy it at the time...
